Usage

C Reactive Protein (CRP) is the most sensitive acute phase reactant for inflammation. The levels increase dramatically (100 fold or more) after severe trauma, bacterial infection, surgery and neoplastic proliferation. This assay is useful in detecting systemic inflammatory process and infection. It assesses response to antibiotic treatment and differentiates between active and inactive disease forms with concurrent infection.
