DENGUE FEVER NS1 ANTIGEN, EIA
No special preparation required
Dengue fever is a mosquito borne illness prevalent in Southeast Asia, Latin America & Africa. It is caused by the bite of infected Aedes mosquito. There are 4 types of Dengue viruses and all of them can cause disease. Symptoms are like flu resulting in fever, headache & muscle pain. Later on a rash may also appear. Severe infection can cause bleeding & you may go into shock. Detection of NS1 antigen is associated with a higher risk of developing severe illness specially if positive beyond 5th day of fever. This is a sensitive test for the detection of NS1 antigen.
The NS1 antigen test offers a rapid diagnostic approach to identify the dengue virus in the blood when it is still in the early stages of illness. It makes quick diagnosis possible, enabling effective dengue sickness treatment. This test is highly useful in dengue-endemic areas because it enables medical practitioners to quickly identify and treat infected individuals.
The NS1 antigen test is a sophisticated and very useful diagnostic technique for people with a history of travel and clinical signs of dengue fever.
Fever and/or rashes are common mild symptoms of dengue fever.
Early indications of dengue include flu-like symptoms, a high fever, unbearable headaches, eye pain, skin rashes, joint and muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, and swollen glands.
Timely NS1 antigen testing helps with early diagnosis, which is necessary for effective care and treatment.
One to nine days after the sickness begins, NS1 is usually detected. It is an early marker of acute Dengue.
This very sensitive quantitative test may detect the Dengue virus in blood, plasma, or serum samples.
Within the first week of symptoms developing, this test is typically conducted to diagnose an acute Dengue infection.
The dengue virus NS1 is active in the early stages of dengue fever from the first to the ninth day after symptoms appear.
Physicians can now treat patients promptly thanks to the NS1 antigen test, which has made dengue therapy easier.
Because of its use, dengue has been diagnosed earlier and hasn't progressed to more severe stages.
Early diagnosis allows for timely intervention, which reduces the risk of major repercussions.
This test significantly enhances patient treatment and prognosis by diagnosing Dengue before symptoms worsen, improving outcomes.
