Overview

Fever is an increase of body temperature that exceeds the normal daily variation and occurs along with an increase in the set point in the brain. A fever of >106.7°F is called Hyperpyrexia which can develop in patients with severe infections and brain hemorrhages. A variety of bacterial & viral organisms can lead to fever.
