Our training programs are conducted onsite at our state-of-the-art, 85,000 sq ft National Reference Laboratory in Rohini.

The National Reference Lab, Rohini, provides highly specialized exposure to diagnostics, incorporating cutting-edge technology and an extensive test menu that includes molecular diagnostics, next-generation sequencing, clinical cytogenomics, FISH, microarray, digital histopathology, oncopathology, transplant immunology, autoimmunity diagnostics, mass spectrometry, biochemical genetics, renal pathology, transmission electron microscopy.

The facility processes over 35,000 samples and conducts nearly 90,000 tests daily, ensuring a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience.

About Program and Eligibility

MedNxt is Dr Lal PathLabs’s umbrella program for Post-doctoral Fellowship & certificate courses in specialised areas in the field of pathology.

The training programmes will be run onsite at their state of the art, 85000 sq ft National Reference laboratory, Rohini.

The National Reference Lab offers highly specialised exposure in diagnostics incorporating cutting edge technology and vast test menu in Molecular Diagnostics, Next generation sequencing, Clinical Cytogenomics, FISH, Microarray, Digital Histopathology, Oncopathology, Transplant Immunology, Autoimmunity Diagnostics, Mass Spectrometry, Biochemical Genetics, Renal pathology and Transmission electron microscopy. The facility tests over 35000 samples a day, running close to 90000 tests daily.

The program offers a unique opportunity to learn from the highly experienced faculty and get hands on experience while working with a team of over 60 pathologists and research scientists and nearly 300 laboratory technologists.

The students will also get to experience and learn best in class practices in diagnostics from the lab having Accreditations from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the National Board for Accreditation of Laboratories NABL for the extensive test menu of over 3000 tests. The In-house R&D unit at the National reference Lab is recognized by DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

The National reference lab has been training primary DNB Pathology candidates with excellent results over the last five years and now opens avenue to train in advanced, specialised fields in pathology through the MedNxt program.

Eligibility Criteria:

MD/DNB in Pathology, MD/DNB Transfusion medicine (Degree must be obtained from recognized Institute).

Molecular Pathology Fellowship (2022–23)

The fellowship offered a comprehensive curriculum with an excellent blend of theoretical learning and hands-on training. During the course, I mastered various aspects of molecular genetics, both in terms of techniques and their clinical applications.

I also had the opportunity to attend several national conferences, where I connected with leading experts and presented scientific posters and papers.

I was honored to receive the 2nd prize for Oral Presentation at KAPCON 2023 & 3rd prize in the Hematology Quiz at Max Cancer Congress 2023.
In addition, we worked on publishing several novel and interesting case reports, along with a few research studies I’m truly grateful to Dr Lal PathLabs for this program MedNxt, which has been a transformative experience and has significantly shaped my career in Molecular Pathology.

Hemato-Onco Pathology Fellowship (2022–2023)

It was a truly memorable and enriching journey, both academically and professionally.

The fellowship offered a structured orientation followed by in-depth training in morphological interpretation of bone marrow and peripheral smears, with good clinical and molecular correlation.

I gained hands-on experience in flow cytometry — from processing and acquisition to analysis and reporting — along with an overview of molecular pathology, including PCR, Sanger sequencing, and NGS techniques.

During the fellowship course, I took the opportunity to present four abstracts at national and international conferences, received the 2nd prize for an E-poster at the 5th National Hematology Update (AIIMS, Jodhpur), 2nd prize in HOPE Asia International Conference in collaboration with European Hematology Association (EHA) and 3rd prize in the hematology quiz at Max Cancer Congress 2023 and many others. The publications of three original articles were undertaken in international journals.

Overall, it was a fantastic learning experience that combined technical skills in morphology, flow cytometry, and molecular techniques with academic accomplishments.
